Went in as a boy - Now a man

22 December 2007, Friday. That day, I became an executive in Malaysian Re. I was employed by the company on 3rd July 2006 as a Contract Executive. I was bound by a contract because I was their scholar. I went into Corporate Strategy & Planning first. Then, I was transferred to Reinsurance Admin. My whole perception of the company changed ever since.

I was offered a position as an executive with my current department on 22 December 2006. 6 months have passed since and now I'm no longer under probation. I'm a proud executive within a reputable firm! Fate dealt me a card that landed me in this company of which I triumph. At least, that's what I like to believe. Work has been a roller-coaster the moment I walked into that department.

I see future there. However, I'm not barring the possibility of having better offers. I did, I do and I believe I will always have them if I put myself out there. Having said that, which firm lets you have the freedom to think and implement things completely on your own. Whenever you require assistance, the door is always open, literally! That is what I like about my company. Friendly people, fast-moving issues, pressure and fun. One thing for sure that made me reconsider staying is the people. No doubt they are a great bunch.

I will never let go of my dream of being a consultant. I want to see other companies and their workings. When I'm one (consultant), I know I have this company to thank, especially my current department. Brilliant and down-to-earth people.
