Hantu Semantan

a true story

A hantu (ghost) was sighted along Jalan Semantan in Damansara Heights two days ago not far from Wisma UOA on a rainy evening between 6:15pm to 7:00pm. The ghost was reportedly gliding down the road and crossing Jalan Semantan to some destination we did not know where. When she was spotted near ESSO, a few good citizens of Jalan Semantan/ESSO shouted "HANTU!!!" to warn their friends nearby. However, the warning did not work. The hantu turned to them, waved a little, smiled a little and glided on to oblivion. Some people even said that she laughed hysterically.

She's white. And no, she's not a caucasian. She's white as in she was wearing a BIG, SQUARE and WHITE (believe it or not...) RAINCOAT (play horror music here and "aaargggghhhh..."). The hantu was none other than my homey, Jacques*.

i was sotong-ed

A day after that (yesterday), I was at my University to get something done. I needed to get my results certified. Alas, no lecturers were around because everyone was either at some induction course or meeting or on leave BUT one lecturer. Her initial's NST and it's not New Straits Times, mind you. It rhymes with a type of seafood - SQUID in Malay (translation: SOTONG). She was free and she was on the phone. I entered her room when she finished her conversation. I asked her to do me a favour (certify my results) and this was how it went:

NST: Aiya... I'm busy la. Can't you see? No... No.
(She said all those without looking at me. I was dumbfounded.)

CF: It's just a stamp on the paper and sign it.
NST: No, no. I'm busy.
(Guess what? She was sitting with her back facing me, counting money)

She can't even spare less than a minute to stamp my results and sign it. To make matters worse, she was the lecturer that deducted 10 marks from my 1st tutorial because my DAY (Mon, Tues...) was DATE (dd/mm/yy) on the front cover. If only I have some SQUIDs with me. I'll smack her face with them. MALAYSIA Boleh!

When FAST isn't FAST Enough

Hello Peeps. It's been forever since I last post an entry. Don't believe me? Look at the date of the last thread before this one. Been bumming at home doing house chores, watching Jap anime, reading and going out shopping and coffee. All this because of just one thing, my sponsor (scholarship).

For those who don't know, I'm bonded for 3 yrs by my sponsor, a local company (listed on Bursa's Main Board). According to them, they will send the offer letter to me on IMMEDIATE basis once the new package is approved during the Board of Trustee's meeting. Well, send my (bleep). I've been bumming for a month now. Some may say it's just a month, but I'm those that must work. I cannot not work. My last email to them was to enquire the outcome of the Board Meeting. As a stakeholder in that matter (scholarship, as a recipient), I believe that I have the right to ask this question and it's been long enough.

Just two days ago, I received a reply fr them saying "Further take note that you have to be patient with the offer letter. I have informed to you on the progress as per the earlier e-mail." The "earlier e-mail" that was mentioned did not have any information except the date of the meeting and also sending the letter on immediate basis. Why can't they let me know roughly when I will be able to start or at least let me know roughly when will I receive my letter?

Being the ever restless fella, I've applied to several companies. What do I do now? I'll wait and see which company works faster (it's not as if I will definitely get any offer from other companies, LOL). I will consider breaching my scholarship contract if I can get a good offer from one of the companies I've applied to. However, I will give my sponsor 1 more week to sort things out. It's more than enough. I have had enough of their nonsense. When that 1 week's up, I will send an email to them requesting information regarding the repayment methods of the scholarship should I breach the contract. I will hold on to the information and will not hesitate to use it when it's absolutely necessary!
