Class of 2005/06: Faculty of Economics & Administration, University of Malaya

Hello guys. I've graduated. I have finally completed my first degree in Economics specialising in Analytical Economics. Yesterday (Saturday: 29 Apr 2006) was my final day of examination. Mixed feelings, if you know what I mean. Throughout my 3 years in the University, I came across so many things, picked up a lot of skills and realised tonnes of stuff. To talk about that will need 1 whole day, so I'm not gonna go there.

I would like to apologise to one of my friends who has moved to Sabah (for work). Had some difficulties lately and couldn't really keep in touch. Many things have changed and so have I. I am no longer the person people think I am. Whether it's a good thing or a bad thing, you get to decide! (For those who is able to read between the lines, please do so).

Not a very long entry because I'm just too lazy to type. Anyhow, I will post a new entry summarising my 3 years in UM. Have a great weekend everyone.

A New Language

My fellow earthlings... I have finally decided to learn the Asian language of LOVE... Korean. You may not agree with me about the language of love thingy, but to me, it's the language of love. Message of love.... No one can express the "I Love You" as good as Koreans. (at least I think so).

Such determination... LOL! I hope it doesn't die. World peace, people and lots of love!

MIXED feelings

Lately, I have been experiencing weird moments. 3 more weeks and I'm gonna enter the working world. Is it good? I have a few questions in my mind regarding that matter. What questions you might ask...

  1. Will I like my job?
  2. Is that (my future job) what I really want to do?
  3. Can I do it well?
  4. Will I give up easily?
  5. Do I want a challenging job or a laid back job?

Those are the questions I'm asking myself! At times, I felt so useless just thinking about them. I guess only time will tell. Meanwhile, I'll just concentrate on my exams and exit with style.

If I'm really good in my job in the future, I will take my sister, Catherine, to Korea for holidays. Why? That's because both of us are crazy about Korea. The people, the culture and the buildings. Everything there's just beautiful! Maybe that explains why I watch Korean dramas. (smirk). I seriously do not mind living in Korea. The only downside is I don't know Korean. I guess I can learn?

After 3 years (hopefully), I'll be able to take my whole family for an overseas holiday. Somewhere that everyone wants to go. Expenses will be on the kids and my mother will go and have fun without having to worry about $$$! 8 people (or more if we bring partners) wrecking havoc and leaving trails on foreign soil. Awesome!

My short essay on Faculty of Economics & Administration, UM

(verbatim fr. English assessment)

Question:
Think of a problem you face in your faculty & ideas to overcome it.

Answer:
One of the problems I face in my faculty is the lecturers. I find that their understanding of the subjects they lecture is below the level of qualified lecturers. Several lecturers even denounced students' intelligence to avoid answering questions posted by students. Apart from that, they failed to deliver key points of their lectures and students had to lecture instead. Despite years of experience as lecturers, clearly they do not possess the passion nor the skills required to lecture.

The faculty should have a more stringent quality control. Although assessment forms have been given to students to assess lecturers' performance for the past few years, the assessment does not guarantee the quality of lecturers. The faculty needs an independent panel to review the lecturers' competency. Employment of new lecturers must not be based on articles published in renowned journals but their ability to lecture and their understanding of the relevant subjects.

(Pls read 3 April 2006 entry on the things I want in future. The world must know what I want because through the list, you will know what kind of person I am!)

What I Want & What You Should Know

Dear Beautiful People of Earth:

Suddenly I feel the urge to tell people what I want or wish for. Have no idea why. Maybe I've been wanting all these stuff for so long and still haven't been able to get them. (smirk). So here are the things/people I want...
  1. A stylish phone. Either a clamshell/swivel/slide mobile. Fantastic specs and absolutely powerful.
  2. A good and sleek PDA. I know we have PDA phones but I just want them separated. :)
  3. An iPod mini
  4. Another pair of cool shades fr Rayban or Armani.
  5. New clothes. Stylish yet cool. Not over the top.
  6. Go to a good gym.
  7. A girlfriend... She has to be down-to-earth, classy, chubby is good but not fat (newly added to my ideal gf's characteristics), likes to laugh, likes to cook (not really a must), she must fight with me, independent, smart, daring, outspoken, adventurous, determined and sassy.
  8. A 4WD (Volvo, BMW, Toyota)
  9. A car (Nissan Zen, BMW, Mercedes SLK)
  10. A Zen concept service apartment (1200 sq ft of brown, black, grey, steel and white scheme apartment) with blinds, not curtains. Oh God, my apartment will look absolutely fantastic with other things stated below.
  11. Learn to play the piano at a more advanced level.
  12. Have a baby grand piano in my service apartment.
  13. Play the piano for my friends, girlfriend and family on special occasions.
  14. Sophisticated household appliances (Plasma/LCD TV, B&W system, electronic door system)
  15. Awesome furniture.
  16. I would like to be a single father. Make sure my kid wears nice stylish clothes and I can bring him/her to malls and coffee and movies and etc.
  17. Have my own successful business. Preferably in the service industry.
So far these are the things I want... This will be the "To Get" list. It's a little stupid but it's my achievement list. I want and will get these things.
